Development
The Young Women’s Transitional Shelter has been the newest addition to EPHSI and opened in December of 2024. The YWTS is a transitional shelter for young single homeless women ages 18-24 with no children. The mission of the YWTS is to provide a safe and stable living environment for young women and to acquire the skills and support necessary to live on their own.
The YWTS focuses on six core-competencies:
Life Skills
Education/Training
Job Readiness
Health
Documentation
Housing
These core competencies are in place to ensure that the YWTS can assist their clients with becoming self-sufficient and obtain housing services.
