Child and Adult Care Food Program
As a current sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), EPHSI currently sponsors approximately 200 day care homes and 35 day care centers in Region 10, by providing recruitment, contract agreements, training, technical assistance and monitoring of these day care home facilities in the area of nutrition and meal preparation. The Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) through funds provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture funds the CACFP. The program services approximately 1,500 families per year. The agency project is recognized and has participated at the state and regional levels as one of the best-managed programs in the State. The agency staff participates at the state and regional levels in advisory committees, state planning committees and state associations providing input on program development and project compliance.
